Abstract-Any problem in cable insulation system is generated by the mechanism of either conduction or polarization. By measuring depolarization current, equivalently the absorption current, in conjunction with polarization current, conduction and polarization in cable insulation system can be identified. This article provides details how to diagnose problems in power cables safely and accurately by Polarization / Depolarization Current (PDC) analysis
