A basic assumption emitted by foreign policy experts gives the impression that each nation engages in foreign policy to protect its national interest. In view of this, each nation guides its interest jealously while prying on others. Therefore, this work addresses itself to the implication of the United States' sudden interest on security assistance to Nigeria over the dreaded challenge of Boko Haram in view of the fact that such assistance had earlier been denied.
