Medical emergencies on board commercial aircraft - standardized emergency documentation form oft the German Society of Aerospace Medicine

There is sparse data available on the number, incidence, and type of medical emergencies on board commercial aircraft (IFME, in-flight medical emergencies). A standardized national or international registry is not yet available. Defining incidence-related medical equipment on board of aircraft as well as the analysis of in-flight medical emergencies requires systematic data acquisition in a standardized format. The emergency documentation form of the German Society of Aerospace Medicine in both, German and English language facilitates data collection / analysis. It should be used for national and international flights in the future. Having this form available in the, emergency medical kit may optimize data collection as well as analysis of in-flight medical emergencies
