Six months of a Newfoundland missionary's journal, from February to August, 1835

[1st edition]. Anglican Archdeacon of St. John's Edward Wix spent six months visiting the southern and western coasts of Newfoundland. The candid descriptions he provided of the inhabitant's lives and situations were a factor in the Church's ultimate decision to increase its religious presence by appointing a bishop to the island.
