The New Zealand Kellogg Rural Leaders Programme develops emerging agribusiness leaders to help shape the future of New Zealand agribusiness and rural affairs. Lincoln University has been involved with this leaders programme since 1979 when it was launched with a grant from the Kellogg Foundation, USA.Aims of this report: 1. To assess the significance of crossbreeding to sheepfarming. 2. To investigate options for crossbreeding for early lamb production. 3. To provide a resource for farmers considering crossbreeding. 4. To highlight important issues for farmers considering crossbreeding. 5. To include practical information, relevant to on-farm use. 6. To focus on early lamb systems
