The Everest region or Solu Khumbu is one of the most celebrated areas of the world. It is here that the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, or as the Nepalese call her, Sagarmatha "Mother of Universe" is situated. The high mountains and valleys of the Solu Khumbu is not only the home of Mt Everest but also that of a hardy ethnic group called “Sherpa" who migrated to the area from Eastern Tibet in the early 16th century.
