This paper presents the results of using linear programming to analyse the outcome of alternative cropping and livestock systems on the Lincoln College mixed cropping unit. It does not give a detailed description of the methods of linear programming. The aim is rather to present the results, for it is felt that these will be of interest to farm advisory officers and others concerned with farm management problems
