Encapsulating these drugs in temperature-sensitive liposomes and applying hyperthermia to deliver thrombolytic agents locally to thrombus might theoretically favourably alter the therapeutic window. The objectives of this study were to formulate liposomes encapsulating thrombolytics and assess thrombolytic activity following hyperthermia.
