International Law and Sovereignty in Francisco de Vitoria

Este trabajo analiza la relación entre el derecho internacional y la soberanía en los escritos de Francisco de Vitoria Relectio de indis, De iure belli y Relectio de potestate civili. Examina la forma de argumentación de las Relectiones theologicae e intenta determinar si Vitoria tuvo en cuenta diferentes dimensiones de la historia al escribir estas obras.This paper analyzes the relationship between international law and sovereignty in Francisco de Vitoria’s writings Relectio de indis, De iure belli and Relectio de potestate civili. It examines the form of argumentation of the Relectiones theologicae and tries to determine whether Vitoria took into account different dimensions of history when writing these works
