Developing young learners’ proficiency in accordance with CEFR has attracted the attention of several researchers and educators since its first publication. This paper aims at presenting a brief overview of CEFR and discussing the advantages and challenges in referring to CEFR in developing young language learners’ proficiency, focussing on the levels A1 and A2.
