Meeting of Seven Colorado River Basin States

No commitments to other states affecting Arizona's entitlement to Colorado River water or water from the Gila River system shall be made in the future without the express and prior approval of the Commission. 3. The Commission recommends that the State of Arizona take all possible steps to obtain a license from the Federal Power Commission for construction of a hydroelectric dam at Marble Canyon. In light of the foregoing, the Arizona Interstate Stream Commission takes the position that any discussion intended to result in agreement among the States, on terms of legislation to be introduced in the 90th Congress is premature, if not completely out of order. Pending completion of our studies, we are, in fact, not in a position to choose federal legislation as the route to be taken.
