There are hereby authorized to be appropriated 6 such sums as are required to carry out the purposes of this title. 7 TITLE III-AUTHORIZED UNITS: PROTECTION OF EXISTING USES 8 SEC. 301. The Secretary shall construct, operate, and 9 maintain the lower basin units of the Colorado River Basin project 10 (herein referred to as the "project"), described in sections 302, 11 303, 304, 305, and 306. 12 SEC. 302. The main stream reservoir division shall con- 13 sist of the Hualapai unit (formerly known as Bridge Canyon) and 14 Marble Canyon units, including a dams dam, reservoirs reservoir, 15 powerplants powerplant, transmission facilities, and appurtenant 16 works, and the Coconino and Paria River silt-detention reservoirs: 17 Provided, That (1) Hualapai Dam shall be constructed so as not 18 to impound water at a normal surface elevation within the 19 boundaries of the Grand Canyon National Park (40 Stat. 1175), 20 of one thousand eight hundred and sixty six feet above mean sea 21 level, (2) fluctuations in the reservoir level shall be restricted, 22 so far as practicable, to a regimen of ten feet, (3) Marble Canyon 23 Dam shall be constructed so as to impound water at a normal -2-Epson Perfection 4870 Photo, 400 dpi, 8 bit, 2,523,983 byte
