My dear Mr. Secretary: I have called a hearing at 10:00 a.m., April 4, 1967, in the Senate Interior Committee hearing room, 3110 New Senate Office Building, on the "Plan to Develop Technology for Increasing Water Yield from Atmospheric Sources" which your Department developed and published in November, 1966, pursuant to an inquiry by Senator George McGovern and myself. The hearing will be conducted by the Water and Power Resources Subcommittee of the Interior and Insular Affairs Committee. The Subcommittee would be pleased to have you, your Science Adviser, Dr. Thomas F. Bates, Dr. Archie Kahan, and other Department officials who participated in developing this plan appear before us to discuss its potentialities and your requirements to proceed with advanced planning and the program itself.
