Marble Canyon Dam Project

Document: Graduate Paper, Arizona State University College of Business Administration, "Marble Canyon Dam Project", May 1963, page 55 The State Legislature created the Arizona Power Authority with the specific purpose, among others, to develop projects on the Colorado River for the benefit of the State. Although the Power Authority was created primarily to develop the hydroelectric potential of the river in order to provide an economical source of power for pump irrigation and drainage, the Legislature further authorized the Authority to provide a power revenue subsidy to help defray the costs of diverting Colorado River water into Arizona. The power revenues from the Authority's proposed Marble Canyon project will be used for this purpose, which includes financial aid to the Central Arizona Project.
