Untreated municipal and industrial water sold at the main aqueducts for about 13 cents per thousand gallons would repay the costs allocated to this function in 50 years, with interest. Irrigation water sold to the farmers at the main aqueducts for $10.00 per acre-foot, which is considered to be about the maximum payment obtainable from project farms over a long-range period, would repay 83 percent of the costs allocated to irrigation.
