July 13, 1955 My dear Mr. Thomas: This is in reply to your letter of June 2, 1955, applying for power from the proposed Glen Canyon Project. The construction of a dam at the Glen Canyon site is now under consideration by Congress and has not as yet been authorized. We are not in a position at this time to consider and accept applications for power to be produced at an indefinite future. date. At such time as the Congress of the United States authorises the project and appropriates funds for its construction and construction is sufficiently advanced to predict the availability of power, we will advise customers in the area to submit requests for power. You may be sure that you will have ample time to resubmit your request for power at the proper time and that such application will be given careful consideration.
