Memorandum: Memorandum of Understanding As to Functions and Obligations of Agencies to the United States in Carrying Out the International Agreement with Mexico in Minute No.218, Recommendations to the Colorado River Salinity Problem, April 26, 1965, page 64/26/65 -6- c) The total quantity of salts decrease as the salinity of the effluent from the drainage wells and tile drains decreases. d) The discharge of drainage waters not exceed the historic flows of the conveyance channel (about 300 c.f.s.) with the understanding that the District pump less than that rate to the extent this is required to comply with Paragraph a) above. e) In those areas, where tile drains have been provided, the drainage wells will not be pumped except in those times and places where it is found that the tile drainage is inadequate and pumping is necessary to avoid seepage to lands. G. In consultation with the U. S. Geological Survey and other agencies as appropriate, collect groundwater and other data in the Wellton-Mohawk District and in related areas in order to define current conditions and probable trends relating to the operations provided for in the Minute and in this Memorandum. Prepare reports on the collection and analyses of the data and furnish copies semi-annually to the United States Section. 2. The United States Section, International Boundary and Water Commission, will be the responsible United States Government Agency to: A.
