Two, prepared by the State of California, Department of Water Resources, which were particularly pertinent are: "Bulletin No. 132-63--The California State Water Project in 1963, April 1963," and "Preview of Bulletin No. 136--North Coastal Investigation, September 1963." This appendix discusses, in further detail, the conservation and conveyance plans within California which are presented briefly in the report. The Pacific Southwest Water Plan contemplates the conservation and conveyance of 1,200,000 acre-feet of water in the Initial Plan--Features Proposed for Immediate Authorization and Features Requiring More Detailed Study. The facilities included in this appendix are all part of that Initial Plan. In brief, they involve the conservation of the 1,200,000 acre-feet of water in the North Coastal area of California and subsequent transmountain diversion into the Sacramento River; conveyance of the 1,200,000 acre-feet by enlargement of the proposed East Side Canal, East Side Division, Central Valley Project; a new canal from the Kern River terminus of the East Side Canal to the California Aqueduct at Wheeler Ridge and enlargement of the California Aqueduct from Wheeler Ridge Pumping Plant No. 1 to Cedar Springs Reservoir.
