KEDUDUKAN DAN PERAN DEWAN KEHORMATAN ADVOKAT: STUDI PERADI DI CABANG SLEMAN DALAM PENEGAKAN KODE ETIK ADVOKAT

Advocate as set in regulation number 18 year 2003 which describes advocate as a very noble profession of law and the honorable profession ( Officium Nobile ) is the same as the police , judges and prosecutors. Advocate has been known as a noble profession because an advocate devoted himself to the society as well as obligations and not solely because of its own interests. The evident is that an advocate has a duty to give legal services which include legal advice, legal aid, or assist and defend clients, outside and inside the court either that the Religious Courts, General Court, Administrative Court or Military Justice. This thesis used the method of normative research focused on the Positive Law which is law number 18 year 2003 and the rules or norms which is set in the Code of Ethics Indonesian Advocates. Nowadays, many of advocates make mistakes and break the rules that have been agreed, Positive and Principle Law/ Norma itself so that it is needed the existence of a Code of Ethics for advocate to regulate and control the advocates for their profession. The enforcement of Code of Ethics for advocate is supervised by an institution that is in an organization called the Honorary Board of Advocates, who works actively in the enforcement of the Code of Honor Advocates Council which is the organization that has a charge in supervising and enforcing code of ethics. Honor Council was formed in the central and branch level. Honorary Board of Ethics basically has the authority in terms of enforcement of the Code of Ethics for the advocate, the duty is to maintain the dignity and honor for advocate. This Code of Ethics works after the complaint, because the operation procedure of the Honorary Board and the validity of the Code of Ethics are from a complaint. These complaints are from the client, the general public, companion, government and advocate organization itself
