The purpose of this article is to put gender on the agenda within vocational teacher education. As educators of teachers, we wanted to analyse gender and diversity perspectives in national and local curriculums for vocational teacher education, based on three Norwegian counties. The overall goal is to identify how vocational teachers can contribute to the development of an improved gender balance within vocational education. Actual freedom of choice within vocational education and career options remains a challenge. There is still limited adaptation for youth as minorities in vocational training and working life.
