The technological development of image editing and image sharing has in recent decades changed how images are used as a medium in art, culture and communication. This presents new issues related to the use of images. This article addresses challenges teachers face when teaching tomorrow's consumers and producers of visual works, and asks what teachers need to be aware of in their teaching so that the students acquire the tools they need to be informed, critical and responsible in their actions.
