In this article we discuss the conditions and structure for in-service training in sloyd (crafts) in the Finnish educational system. To begin with, we focus on the starting points for in-service training among class and subject teachers who teach sloyd. Furthermore, we discuss how to make use of the teachers own teaching related experiences, and how to utilise them as a collective asset in in-service training.
