Mysterious-imaginary world of mirrors in children's literature

: This paper considers the question of the theme of mirrors in literature for children and youth. The theme of mirrors comes from the realm of fantasy, and applied to literature for children, it can cause a surprise or fear of the unknown that appears behind the mirror. This topic will be considered in two novels from literature for children. However, unlike Jadranka Vladova, Lewis Carroll in his work through the mirror is a reverse world which operates under the principle of a chess game. Interestingly in the novel "Gledaloto zad ogledaloto" of Jadranka Vladova, which also distinguishes this novel from the novel "Alice on the other side of the mirror" from Lewis Carroll's mirror is connection with another subject that in "Alice ..." does not exist. In the novel by Jadranka Vladova it is the shoes which are an important element required for the transition from the real world into the world of the mirror. The shoes and the mirror works together, and if one of these elements is missing, the entrance into the world of the mirror can not be realized. In this work Jadranka Vladova parallel with real elements inserted and fantastic events. Contrary to the fantastic elements and chronotop located behind the mirror and where from Maja is "peaking" in to the future, Maja exists with quite real, everyday family, with real jobs, have friends, go to school and so on. Lewis Carroll and Jadranka Vladova although originating from different continents and work in different time, they are both writing about the same subject, the existence of a parallel fantasy world - the world of the mirror. This theme is characteristic of fiction but introduced and incorporated into a realistic context. The image of the mirror is in the very nature of fantastic literature that starts from the assumption that the fantastic is nothing but real planes breached the magic mirror or disordered consciousness in which things are perceived in their double existence. Thus, in the works of these writers perhaps through the mirror it represented the secret, hidden desire of the main characters, represented by their reflection in the mirror.
