The aim of our study is displaying oral health in diabetic adolescents based on literature findings where periodontal disease was identified as the sixth complication of diabetes. The study protocol was approved by the Ethical committee in Medical Faculty. Sixty-two patients with type 1 diabetes, 14–22 years of age, were recruited from among the patients followed at the Diabetic center-Skopje. Sixty subjects at same age who denied history of diabetes, served as control subjects. Dental examination was recording of missing teeth, existing carious lesions, and number of dental restorations, based on clinical observation.
