PENGENDALIAN KUTU DAUN (Aphis gossypii Glover.) DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN NEMATODA PATOGEN SERANGGA (Steinernema spp.) PADA TANAMAN CABAI

Aphis gossypii (Glover) (Homoptera: Aphididae) is polifag insects that can be found in tropical and subtropical. Yield losses caused by aphids as pests ranged between 6-25% and as more than 90% loss. This study aims to test the effectiveness entomopathogen Nematodes to control A.gossypii in chili at spring field (in polybag). This study was conducted in January to April 2013, inthe Laboratory of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. Soil samples taken from vegetables land in the Land of Tanah Patah Bengkulu. In this study use completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of control (K0), 500 Jl/polybag (K1), 1000 Jl/polybag (K2), 2000 Jl/polybag (K3), and 4000 JI/polybag (K4). The observation Variable in this study are mortality, symptoms of insect pathogenic nematodes, nematode number per individual A. gossypii, persistence of pathogenic nematodes, LD results showed that the density 4000 Jl/polybag more effective to control A. gossypii because it can mortality 100% on the fourth day after application. Bace on frobit analysis can mortality 50% and 95% A. gossypii need density of nematode and 4603, 792 902,331JI/polybag, with long time 4 days (96 hours) after application. Steinernema enormous potential to be developed as a biological control agent in the field.It is necessary to further research in the field scale. 50 LD 9
