The paper analyzed the network of high voltage transmission lines in the Republic of Macedonia with special attention to the needs of connection among the energetic system with the neighboring countries. The choice of the route of the transmission line is a complex procedure that involves satisfying several conditions, such as: the needs of the energy system, geological features where the route passes and certainly have to meet the legal standards for preserving the environment. The Republic of Macedonia is a small country with a modest potential of the power system.
