From Vienna to New York, Macedonia’s Music Progressive Quartet won over the most discerning audiences with their Balkan inspired melodies. Far from traditional, the string quartet gives classical music a modern jazz twist and a hint of exotic allure. The quartet is scheduled to perform three shows in Vancouver thanks to Paul McEwan of the West Coast Symphony Orchestra. McEwan met the quartet last year while on a six-city tour of Albania and Macedonia with the symphony, and was impressed with the quartet’s musicality.
