THE DEVELOPING OF CULTURE AND CHARACTER STUDY

This study aims to describe the comparison between Public Junior High School of Srikaton and Public Junior High School of Purwodadi in developing the study of culture and character. The method used in this study is descriptive comparative method. The subjects of the study are teachers, school head master, and school supervisor, stuff of school, school advisor and students. The data is gathered by using interview, documentation and observation techniques. To analyze the data, this study uses the steps as follows: data collection, data reduction, data display, data comparison and conclussion or verification. Based on the findings, this study generally concludes that there are some similarities and differences between Public Junior High School of Srikaton and Public Junior High School of Purwodadi in developing the study of culture and character. The specifics conclussion are: (1) most of teachers in Public Junior High School of Srikaton understand more about the developing of culture and character study than Public Junior High School of Purwodadi; (2) the Public Junior High School of Srikaton has more teachers that include the value and structure of culture and character study in their lesson plan document than those in Public Junior High School of Purwodadi; (3) the teachers who include the value and structure of culture and character study in Public Junior High School of Srikaton has more ability in applying the develpoing of culture and character study in the actuating of learning process in the class; (4) the teachers who integrate the culture and character study in their subject both in Public Junior High School of Srikaton and Public Junior High School of Purwodadi has ability to develop the evaluation techniques; and (5) there are some sustain and obstacle factors which appear in developing the culture and character study in both of schools
