Heavy metals are one of the most serious threats to the aquatic environment. Mine drainage, which present complex of elements may cause various harmful effects on wildlife, but unfortunately are treat rare. There are many technologies for treating water contaminated with heavy metals, mainly divided into two broad categories: passive and active treatment. Passive treatments are cheaper and do not require special equipment or chemicals, while the active treatment are more complex and higher maintenance costs.
