Penilitian ini dilaksanakan untuk meneliti efek dari tehnik dialogue journal terhadap kemampuan menulis siwas kelas 2 di SMPN 22 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Subyek penelitian ini diambil dari populasi seluruh siswa kelas 2 di SMPN 22 Kota Bengkulu tahun ajaran 2012/2013 yaitu kelas 8A sebagai kelas pembanding dan kelas 8B sebagai kelas eksperimen. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan menerapkan tehnik dialogue journal sedangkan kelas pembanding menggunakan tehnik biasa. Pre-test diberikan kepada kedua kelas sebelum tehnik diterapkan.
