This report documents the static world policy simulation (SWOPSIM) model building framework. The framework consists of computer programs which generate standard global partial equilibrium models in spreadsheets. SWOPSIM models are designed to simulate the effect of changes in producer and consumer support policies on production, consumption, and trade. Several types of world models can be constructed including single product models, multi-product net trade models, and Armington type bilateral trade flow models. Economic linkages across products within a country occur via cross price and "inputoutput" relationships.
