The study examines the economics of cropping pattern and farm income in relation to conjunctive use of water in Bijapur district (Karnataka). The analysis is based on the primary data collected from 296 farmers belonging to different size groups for the crop year 1985-86. The crop enterprises are evaluated by adopting the usual farm management cost concepts. The study reveals a shift in cropping pattern in favour of commercial crops and considerable improvement in cropping intensity with the advent of conjunctive use of water which in turn results in higher income levels on the lands with conjunctive use of water.
