The European Union has adopted a comprehensive strategy to prevent and fight agro-food frauds (AFFs).This strategy is based on many Regulations focusing in several aspects of AFFs. The most important are:- Regulation (EC) n.178/2002, setting up the general principles and requirements of a food law, establishing the European Food Authority (EFSA) and laying down procedures regarding matters of food safety. In addition, it has set up a regulatory system according to the principles of subsidiary principle and risk analysis.
