The effects of black plastic mulch on the cucumber (cv. Victory) yield, water use and economic returns were evaluated in a field experiment with three replications. Mulched plots produced higher marketable yields (34.1 tons/ha vs. 27.8 tons/ha), and used less water (674 m3/ha vs. 894 m3/ha) than plots without mulch. An economic analysis indicated that the cost of mulching was more than compensated for by increased yields and reduced costs for weed control and water use. The economic analysis also revealed that net returns of approximately $20,020 and $13,110 per hectare can be obtained from mulched and unmulched plots, respectively. ----- A partir d'un essai au champ conduit sur trois répétitions, l'impact sur la production du concombre (cv...
