Malnutrition poses health risks for the people in the Republic of Uganda. An increased consumption of fruits and vegetables which are rich in nutrients can substantially reduce these risks. To efficiently implement programs enhancing consumption of fruits and vegetables, knowledge about the consumption pattern across households is essential. This study examines factors that affect the regular consumption of eight selected fresh fruits and seven selected fresh vegetables across urban households in Uganda. The multivariate probit regression method applied to household survey data identifies relevant factors.
