This paper examines an innovative financial model successfully developed to enable people previously excluded from the land market in South Afrir:a, with minimal equity to purchase land at market related land prices and interest rates. The paper then examines some of the practical problems and allied solutions associated with the implementation of the scheme and the development of appropriate support services and extension systems.
