My Dearest One Tuesday Evening Aug 1 Tuesday Evening Aug I Hello my sweet and how are this nice evening; at least it is here: Honey I am writeing this on an Itallian typewriter and it quite a bit differterent from ours, the keyboard is not the same but will take me a little while to get this written and help pass the time away: Honey this this time of evening reminds me of the song lonely nights, boy how true it is; I dident get any mail again today, I did get a carton of cig,tho so I will have camels for a while any way. Honey I had a letter from Milford yesterday the first I have heard of him in a long time. They are still OK but I am not sure where they are, it looks like we might not see one another for some time,especially if they have gone where I I think they have; I believe I wrote you that I had heard from Wylie. He and Needra seem to be having the time of their lives some people have all the luck. I guess I shouldent feel that way about it. But I sure do miss my wife and I dont mean maby, but I guess this thing will be over before very long from the looks of things ,at least all the news sounds that way and I am crazy enough to believe about half of it. The Stars and Stripes just came and the news is still good.Sweetheart Lt Dricsoll just came in from pass so guess I will have to finish this in the morning. Wednesday Afternoon: Honey this isnt morning and this letter wont get off in todays mail, but maby it will be long enough make up for being late: This darn typewriter is going to eat me up yet, I havent seen anything yet that these Itallians make that is worth carrying off. Honey I got your air mail letters of the 8th and 18th with the pictures, as you said Honey some of them arent so plain but they serve the purpose anyhow, boy the twins sure are growing;The other kids are growing to but you dont noti ce them so much.
