My Dearest One Italy March 17, 1944 I read your V-mail of the 1st to-day, and was sure glad to hear. It was the first mail I have had in almost a week. It seems there are times when the mail just dosent get to us on time. I am sorry about C.W. but you can expect the kids to have every thing that comes along. I hope you went ahead & had the twins & Wayne given the shots. I sure will be glad when this air mail letter comes. I know you will have lots to tell me. Honey about the time it takes my mail to come, I don't know. The V-mail always comes faster. Altho I have gotten air mail almost as fast. The V-mail usually comes in from 12 to 14 days. The one I got to-day was 17 day. The longest in quiet some time. A letter about what has been going on here the last few days. We have had lots of air activity. The first few were very quiet but the last two have about made up for the quiet ones. We have had a few close ones but that is to be expected. The close ones were from our own forces. Sorry I can't go into detail about it. But it is one of those things that will hav
