Holt Fatetteville, Arkansas Btry "B" 936 FA BN RFD#5 APO # 464% Post Master New York, NY My Dearest One Italy April 14, 1944 I wrote last night but since I got three letters to-day I guess I had better get busy and write another. I hope you are still ok. As for myself I am OK. we have had another beautifull day today. Had a shower of rain last night but just enough to make thing grow I made the remark to Capt Kelley this morning that the farmers back home sure would love to see a morning like this one. Well sweet your letter to-day of March the 30th and the one of April the 1st completes one month and starts another for me. I am keeping them all I only hope I dont have to be over here so long that I have to destroy them because they take up so much room. I was running through them this afternoon, and you dident miss to many days writeing last month did you. And sweetheart it sure make s thinga a lot ea- sier when I hear from you and know everyone is ok. I guess I worry about a much about you and the kids aa you do about me. Well there are a few shells singing away over our heads this afternoon, so I guess old Jerry is still on the loose. I hadent heard one in so long that I had almost forgotten what they sounded like, but it dident take me very long to remember. No Honey I dont know anyone in Ft Smith by taht name. Maby Cherry told her about you. I believe she is working down ther now isnt she. Honey You mentioned that the Twins would soon be 11 months old, by the time you get this they will be nearly a year old. It dosent seem possiable dose it?. I am glad M ther finally heard from Wylie and Nedra, I know it made her feel lots better. So the young man dosent want to walk, well I guess he is kind of lazy like his Dad is. I generally get to bed around 9:30 or 10:00 coloclock and if I want any breakfast I have to get up about 7:30 or a quarter of eight, And boy do I hate to get up these mornings. But I wouldent worry about him Honey he will be gong everywhere soon enough. I sure dont see how you watch them bothe at once any how. Honey did you ever get the front yard fenced. You mentione it once but dident say wheather you had or not. I notice some Itallians on the move by here this evening. I understand that they are evacuating them to a safer place. They dont seem to lik it very much either, but I dont guess ther is much they can do about it. Honey I'll bet all the work tht you get out of the kids you sure earn it. And if I know Jo e at all he will scheme a hundred ways to get out of doing anything. How about RL cant you get him to stay at home long enough to do anything. Oh yes Honey I almost for- got you remember the little boy I was telling you about the other day, well you sure would have laughed to see the boys making him a pair of pants and giving him a bathe, wont try I dont think. Anyhow I sure do get a kick out of watching them. Well Sweet I am about run down again and besides I have some other work to do so will sign off for tonight.
