Some Where in Italy Jan 26, 1944 My Dearest Well here I am again. Another day has gone by & I have just finished making out my reports. It is almost 10:00 oclock. We havent been very busy to-day. Just a few of what we call harassing missions & one or two counter btry missions. The harrassing missions are firing on roads & the Counter Btry missions are enemy positions I could tell you more about air firing over here but it would only be guess work as to how much effect we get on targets. Some times they are observed by our forward observer and he can report when & where they land. The news from the front is pretty encouraging to-night. They send down any information that they get to the battalion. I only hope the report we got is true. And if it is we will probably do some more moving and I rather expect it will be more than just a few miles as has been the case in the past. Honey there isnt much to write about every day except to let you know I am OK. I hope you & the rest of the family are the same. We dident get much mail to-day. I got four papers one from Nov & the rest from December. I will try and read them tomorrow. The rain didn't last long. It cleared up this afternoon and is still clear. You can see for miles now. It is clearer now than I have seen it since comming to Italy. Sweetheart I cant write another page so will sign off for this time Write often sweet I miss you so much.
