Holt Btry "B" 936 #FA Bn Fayetteville A.P.O. 464 % PM NY, NY Arkansas November 30, 1943 RFD #5 My Dearest Sweetheart (On the frontline somewhere in Italy) Good evening my sweet and how are you to-night. Well old Jerry is quiet to-night so thought I would try and start another letter. I just finished played three games of crib with Sgt Adamsky and got best of those games so I guess it is time for me to quit. Well November has come and gone and it will soon be Christmas. I hope you and the kids have a big time. I know honey it wont seem so good with me being over here and all, but we will just have to make the best of it and maby next Christmas we can all be to-gether again. Honey I got the first of the papers today. Oct. 4 & 5 issues. I guess I will begin to get these pretty regular now. Honey the front lines aren't anything like I had thought they would be. We see and hear lots of firing, but as far haven't had anything happen to us. There really isnt so much danger if you dig your fox hole deep enough. And believe me I am sure going down with mine, just like a mole. Sweetheart I am well and feeling fine. I hope you and the rest are all O.K. Well Sweet I will try and write a little every day now when I have time, that way you will know everything is O.K. Chin up sweet, I love you with all my heart. Your hubby Le
