Chair luncheon.David Wiley Mullins (August 11, 1906-September 22, 1987) entered the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1927 and graduated in 1931. He also earned degrees from several other universities. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He became President of the University of Arkansas and served from 1960-1974. Mullins Library, built in 1968, the main library on campus, is named in his honor. In 1983, the University of Arkansas awarded him an honorary Doctor of Law degree.
