This commentary in Think Global Health underscores the need for and outlines strategies to enable the global health community to embrace an inclusive urbanization strategy to accelerate progress on basic health outcomes. Particularly in light of the rapid pace of urbanization and unknown ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the authors argue that inclusive urbanization is an effective approach to proactively address inequities across wealth, environment, and social identity, ensuring that no one is excluded from urban economic growth and global health gains, especially residents in urban informal settlements.
