This research was proposed to gain whether there is a meaningful influence of applying a two-way dialogue on students' speaking ability. The research method was an experimental analysis in a quantitative approach. The sample of this research was eleventh-grade students of SMA Harapan 1 Medan which consisted of 60 students divided into two classes, the experimental and the control classes as representation consisting of 30 students in each class. Experimental group was taught using two-way dialogue strategy, while control group was taught conventional strategy. Data was gained using pre-test and post-test.
