La pertinencia de una historia de la construcción emocional del cuerpo femenino en México entre 1850-1910. Abordaje desde el construccionismo social

The emotionsfrom a naturalistic view have been associated as a feature of de called feminine nature. Such representation has become a feature of the femininity. In the nineteenth century and the beginnings of the twentieth, the naturalization of the affective dimension, contributed to shaping a female affective culture; which has contributed to the social organization of the relations between genders.In this text, there are presented some reflections about science representations of female emotions and the progress of an investigation named: Women´s body emotional construction in Mexico 1850-1910. This research has as objective the analysis about the medical representation of the women´s body and emotions. Since the use of an interdisciplinary framework in the study of the emotions it is pretended to show that the emotions are in a basic analysis dimension for the interpretation of thegeneral and specially the gender culture.Las emociones han sido concebidas como una característica fisiológica del cuerpo de las mujeres.Dicha asociación se ha convertido en un rasgo de feminidad. En los siglos XIX y a principios del XX, la naturalización de esa dimensión configuró una cultura afectiva femenina, que ha contribuido a la organización social de lasrelaciones de género. En este texto se presentan algunasreflexiones y avances de la investigación sobre la construcción emocional del cuerpo femenino en México (1850-1910)1, en la cualse analizan lasrepresentaciones médicas del cuerpo y las emocionesfemeninas en ese periodo. Se recurre a un marco interdisciplinario para mostrar que las emociones constituyen un elemento analítico fundamental en la interpretación de la cultura, en general, y en la construcción de género, en particular. La intención es deconstruir el mito de la naturalización de las emociones como parte de la feminidad que se suma al imaginario social de lo femenino
