The purpose of the present study was to examine football coaches.’ perceptions of professional competences according to the professional experience and academic education in Sport Science and Physical Education. The participants were 81 Portuguese football coaches, who answered to a questionnaire that was applied after construction validation and content validation. The parametric statistic was applied, namely the One-Way Anova test, for the comparison between groups. The results showed that the coaches with high education, in Sport Sciences and Physical Education perceived themselves as more competent on the activities related to training, namely the Annual and Multi-annual planning, the guidance and the education of beginner co...
