In this work we have tried to approach the central problem that this study raised at the time, that is, the juridical conceptions of St. Augustine in general with special attention to the basic concept of ciuitas.to approach the juridical conceptions of St. Augustine, and which links to the theme and problem of the legitimization of canon law, we have begun by analyzing the most important juridical-political terms, populus, regnum, Res publica, societas and the most important of all, civitas.
