REGIONALIZACIÓN DE LAS GRANDES EMPRESAS MUNDIALES MEDIADOS LOS AÑOS NOVENTA. ALGUNAS CONSIDERACIONES GEOGRÁFICAS

The outstanding role reached by the biggest transnational firms whose economic activity overpassed the states in which their siege is located is analysed in this.paper. It is noticeable that these firms deal with the most various productive subsectors. The main subject of the paper is the spatial distribution of these firms, which allows an explanation fot the reasons motivating their location. It is also analysed the strategic weight that these world regions have in the growing intemationalisation of the economy. The United States of America, Japan and the Westem European countries are the dominant pnvileged areas with a greater concentration of these entities. Opposite these countries there are only a few couniries all over the World, with a timid presence of these fims.Se analiza en este artículo la importancia que alcanzan las mayores empresas mundiales cuya actividad económica sobrepasa ampliamente el marco temtorial de los estados donde radican sus respectivas sedes sociales. Se observa que éstas abarcan los m&$ variados subsectores productivos. Pero fundamentalmente el centro de atención, del artículo, es su distribución espacial. Eso permite buscar las correspondientes causas explicativa5 que han motivado su localización. También se analiza el peso estratégico que estas regiones mundiales desempeñan dentro de la intemacionalización creciente de la economía. Estados Unidos, Japón y los países de Europa Occidental son los que constituyen las áreas privilegiadas dominantes, con mayor concentración de tales entidades. Frente a ellos, de manera residual, sólo restan unos pocos países repartidos por el resto del mundo con una tímida presencia de esas empresas
