TRAZADOS DE BAJA Y ALTA SINUOSIDAD EN RIOS ESPAÑOLES

This article focuses on the channel pattems of high and low sinuousity in Spanish rivers. Firstly it aims to establish a typology and then considers in detail both straight, less sinuous channels and meandering ones, trying to link the rate of sinuousity to the slope of the riverbed and to the degrees of confinement and deviation of the channel. The analysis of meandering pattem attempts also to define their geomehical parameters, the frequency distribution of the meanders' size and, finally, to identify the specially dynamic stretchs.El presente artículo constituye una aproximación al análisis de los trazados de baja y alta sinuosidad originados en ríos españoles. Tras unas consideraciones de carácter tipológico, se dedica un epígrafe a cauces rectilíneos y poco sinuosos, y otro a los cursos meandriformes. En ambos casos, se relaciona el índice de sinuosidad con la pendiente del río y con otros factores directamente implicados en el grado de encajamiento y en las desviaciones del cauce. El estudio de los trazados de tipo meandriforme incluye asimismo la definición de sus parámetros geométricos, la distribución frecuencia1 del tamaño de los meandros y, finalmente, la identificación de tramos de especial dinamismo
