MERCADERES GENOVESES EN MURCIA DURANTE LA ÉPOCA DE LOS REYES CATÓLICAS (1475-1576)

The arrival of the Genoese traders to the Spanish kingdoms caused a change in the commercial and financial structure, which reached the highest point in the Catholic Kings´ kingdom. The year 1942 meant a change of direction in the Genoese economic activity, because of the Jewish expulsion. Thereafter the Genoese presence in Murcia was essential as they become the most important part of the economy and a new process of integration in the society started. That work explains the trade and social relations of the Genoese in the Ancient Kingdom of Murcia.La llegada de los comerciantes genoveses a los Reinos Hispánicos supuso un cambio en las estructuras comerciales y financieras, culminado durante el reinado de los Reyes Católicos. 1492 supuso un antes y un después para el desarrollo de la actividad económica de los genoveses, debido a la expulsión de los judíos. Tras esta fecha, en Murcia su presencia se hace imprescindible, dándose un proceso de integración en la sociedad, que antes no había sucedido, dado su papel preponderante en la economía.
